DETROIT – The Թֱ of Michigan (Թֱ) applauds Michigan House representatives for introducing the Reproductive Health Act (RHA). The legislation would modernize state reproductive rights by repealing unconstitutional prohibitions on reproductive healthcare and would regulate abortion like other forms of healthcare. Under the RHA, people would have the right to use and refuse contraception and continue a pregnancy or have an abortion.

Dave Noble, executive director of the Թֱ of Michigan, has this reaction:

“Abortion is a civil right that is critical to health care and has no place in politics. We are grateful to the Michigan lawmakers who are working diligently to remove unnecessary barriers to abortion, and for striving to ensure that everyone can make their own medical decisions.”
