After a championed career spanning three decades regarded as the world鈥檚 premier point guard, Sue Bird has left her mark on the WNBA and the world of women鈥檚 sports. The league's All-Time Leader in Assists retired in September of 2022 and has since tapped into her progressive entrepreneurial spirit. A living icon, Sue holds a strong legacy of being selfless, driven, encouraging, funny and smart.
Bird is a born leader who has dominated at every level; she is one of only seven women to win an Olympic Gold Medal (she鈥檚 won five), a World Championship Gold Medal (she鈥檚 won four), an NCAA Championship (she鈥檚 won two), and a WNBA Championship (she鈥檚 won four 鈥� the last just weeks before her 40th birthday). Sue is also a five-time EuroLeague Champion, a thirteen-time WNBA All-Star, 2021 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year, and was voted by the fans as one of the WNBA鈥檚 Top 15 Players of All Time.
Sue鈥檚 vocal stance on racial, gender, and LGBTQ+ equity has made her a cornerstone in athletic representation and allyship. In 2021, Bird founded Togethxr 鈥� a woman-centered media group 鈥� alongside three influential women athletes to further the progress, culture, representation, and coverage of all women and girls in sport. In December 2022, alongside fianc茅 Megan Rapinoe and in partnership with Togethxr, Sue launched a production company focused on telling the stories of the people moving culture forward. Named 鈥淎 Touch More,鈥� the pair is determined to bring more understanding, connection, entertainment, and conversation to the ever-evolving media landscape. Sue is an outspoken and visible activist advocating for Black Lives, equality, health and wellness and expanding opportunities for girls and all marginalized people.
